Leipzig and Landau in der Pfalz presented as the first AIAMO Pilot Regions in the BMDV

Today, Leipzig and Landau in der Pfalz were officially presented as the first AIAMO Pilot Regions at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV).

AIAMO aims to enable innovative, sustainable, and efficiently networked mobility management for cities and municipalities using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Both pilot cities represent different challenges and offer ideal test environments for innovative approaches.

The focus is on the development and testing of AI-supported solutions for linking mobility data, optimizing traffic flows, better organizing commuter traffic, and improving the connectivity of public transport. The key feature: The project's results are intended to be transferable to small and medium-sized municipalities.

During today's event, Federal Minister Dr. Volker Wissing emphasized the pioneering role of Leipzig and Landau in der Pfalz in the field of AI-based mobility solutions. The solutions developed and tested there aim not only to optimize traffic and improve air quality but also to have a positive impact on environmental protection and the quality of life for citizens.

Markus Wartha, Consortium Leader of AIAMO, highlighted that the project lays a solid foundation for the widespread implementation of AI-driven mobility solutions. The collaboration between cities, research institutions, and businesses will be crucial in shaping the future of mobility in an efficient and sustainable manner.
