7th AIAMOcamp in Freiburg: Shaping the Future from the User’s Perspective

This time, the AIAMO project team met at highQ in Freiburg. While the previous AIAMOcamp focused on implementation and transfer into municipal practice, the 7th AIAMOcamp centered on the user’s perspective and the future of AIAMO beyond the project’s duration.

How can the solutions developed in AIAMO be successfully brought to market? What concrete benefits do they offer potential users, and how can these be clearly communicated based on the impacts examined and evaluated in the project? Building on the results of the evaluations and AIAMOimpact, the team discussed which requirements and needs are critical from the municipal perspective and how this insight can inform future outreach efforts.

A key focus was on translating these findings into concrete requests for proposals and sample requirements. Among other things, experiences from the pilot regions of Leipzig and Landau were incorporated. At the same time, the discussion addressed the technological requirements for future mobility and traffic management, as well as the interaction between the integration zone, AI foundation models, AI agents, and application software.

The agenda concluded with a joint review of the AIAMO research and development project. In an open “lessons learned” session, participants shared experiences, identified areas for improvement, and gathered insights for future projects. Above all, however, the focus was on the future: How can the results from AIAMO be carried forward starting in 2027, and how can this successful collaboration be continued?

In this way, the 7th AIAMOcamp linked the question of concrete benefits for municipalities with a focus on the next steps: What do municipalities need—and how can AIAMO be continued based on this?
